10 weeks [praying for baby J]

Apparently, this is the beginning of the "fetal period," a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

Development Prayers:
Pray for the vital organs — including kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — which are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout the pregnancy. Pray for baby J's tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin. In other developments: baby J's limbs can bend now. The hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over the heart, and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. Pray for the development of baby J's spine, which the outline of it is clearly visible through translucent skin, and pray for the spinal nerves that are beginning to stretch out from the spinal cord. Continue to pray for baby J's developing brain, which measures half the length of the body right now.

Symptoms:
  • less nauseous, but still there
  • nose issues
  • tired and fall asleep without realizing
  • can sleep better at night
  • gag at the smell of peanut butter when I'm cleaning it off a plate--but I love to eat it with apples
  • gag when I try to put up leftovers
  • haven't been able to cook in weeks
  • still have to force myself to eat every few hours or else my hunger goes crazy or I feel nauseous
