sweet things

Like I mentioned before, Joel has continued to go out of his way to make sure I am comfortable and taken care of during this pregnancy.  He does such a great job of this that I can barely stand it and continue to thank him for all he is doing.

Some recent sweet things that almost bring me to tears:
  • Anytime I reach into the fridge, there is a new water bottle, cold and ready for me.  This means that he takes a bottle from our pantry every night and puts one in the fridge, so I'll have a cold one first thing in the morning or in the middle of the night (whichever comes first :) ).
  • When I get into my car, whether it's been a month or a few days, it is always full.  I don't know how or when he does it, but he makes sure that I have a full tank of gas every week.
  • Before he comes home from work, he calls to see if there is anything I need or he can pick up for me.
  • He "protects me from myself" as he likes to call it--whether it's moving me from the outside of the street where we are walking, taking my hand as I'm about to walk into oncoming traffic (oblivious), telling me to hold my breath when we're around smoke, or telling me I need to go to bed sooner--he constantly has a thoughtful, watchful eye for me.
  • When I can't stop gagging while trying to cook, he takes over in the kitchen and makes me his pancakes.
  • Since I am not up extra movement at the moment, he offers to do the dishes and other household chores.
  • He asks me if I've been praying for baby J
  • Not only does he make my sandwich for lunch the night before when I can't, but he writes the sweetest, tear-jerking notes on the bag for when I find it the next morning

I could go on and on, but I wanted something I can reference when some days my hormones get the best of me--I'm sure it would be easy to loose perspective on something like this if I didn't record it.  :)

Thankful everyday and love you long time, Joel.
