take your guesses

Today was our 16-wk/4-month appointment and everything went great!  The heartbeat was in the 150s and I got a chance to ask all the silly paranoid questions that I've been saving.  While we were checking out, Joel just kept grinning.  I kept asking him what was so funny and he finally goes, "Can I approve the next round of questions, please?" I got them out of my system and now I'm good.  People are just so open about what pregnant people should and should not eat that it starts to get to you.  Anyway!  The doctor answered them each with a smile on her face and made me feel better.

She also let me know that first time moms probably won't feel any movement until 20 wks.  Ugh. Other than finding out what the sex is, I'm dying to feel baby J move around.  She did say it could be sooner, but it just depends and not to worry if I haven't felt anything.  I think our doctor is beginning to understand me, haha.

And that brings us to our 20 wk appointment!  Which means we'll finally get to see baby J again since he/she was 8 wks old.  We'll get to see the outline of the head, bones, organs, etc.  And hopefully, if he/she cooperates, we'll get to know if baby J is a boy or a girl.  I've gotten a split on what people think it is, so it should be exciting to finally find out.  I just can't wait because this means that I'll get to start calling baby J by it's name! 

Our appointment also falls on the day before my 27th birthday!  What a great birthday present to get to check in on baby J and see if we have a little DIYer or video-gamer on our hands.  :)
