baby on board

We're pregnant!  I found out today that I am with child.  Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to get pregnant the first time, but that just goes to show you how little confidence I have in the Lord's power and protection.  I'm embarrassed at the amount of faith I had on the issue and thought I was doing myself a favor by preparing myself.  I was wrong. But I'm happy to be this kind of wrong.

I just got back from a girls weekend with some of my best friends from high school. We had a blast!  Since I had been tracking my temperature and woke up with an alarm at a certain time, I decided to let the girls in on the fact that Joel and I were trying.  They grabbed my binder and looked through my notes and laughed at how much Joel and I had gotten busy baby making.

Since it was a Monday that I was home for, I decided to take a test since I leave before Joel on those days.  I wasn't supposed to start for another 2 days, but the curiosity and extra test I had got the best of me. I took the test, then finished getting ready.  I almost forgot about it, and took a quick glance at it as I was about to throw it away.  I couldn't believe what I saw, one dark line and a faint line emerging.  All I could do was gasp.  I rushed into our room, woke Joel, and showed him.  "What? How? Really?  Are you sure?"  haha.  He thought I read it wrong, but I assured him that I was in fact pregnant.  We hugged, thanked God, and then I had to go.  It was a great moment.  :)  Joel later said that he was so excited he couldn't go back to sleep.  whoops!

Joel had some free time that day, so he spent about an hour in Barnes and Noble looking through all the baby books and came home with the one that he dubbed "the best."  It's been so informative, but I have to only allow myself to read chunks at a time or else I start freaking myself out.

We are so excited!!  I figured that my due date is May 2ish.  Crazy.
